Privacy policy.
This policy covers the Get Content Chrome extension, provided by Make It Automatic, and this Get Content policy page. It explains the updated extension and the signup flow in earlier versions. It does not describe unrelated Make It Automatic services.
1. Information the extension handles
On supported Instagram and TikTok profile pages, Get Content reads information returned to your browser by those platforms. This may include profile usernames, content identifiers and links, captions, publication dates, view counts, likes, comments, shares, saves, pinned status, thumbnails, and media download links. Available fields vary by platform and item.
The extension observes relevant profile-feed responses, displays collected items, sorts them by your selected metric, and creates exports or downloads when you request them. It can scroll or reload a supported profile to collect the amount of content you choose. It checks the active tab to determine whether you are on a supported profile; it does not collect your browsing history across other sites.
Version 1.1.x does not ask for your name, email, passwords, payment details, or a separate Get Content account. It uses your existing Instagram or TikTok browser session for platform requests when needed, including resolving an Instagram media download. It does not extract or send your login credentials to Make It Automatic.
3. Why the extension needs permissions
- Instagram and TikTok site access: read supported profile content and relevant feed responses, display the Get Content interface, and perform the collection and download actions you choose.
- Active tab: check whether your current tab is a supported profile and communicate with the Get Content interface there.
- Downloads: save media you explicitly request through Chrome’s download manager.
All extension code is included in the extension package. Version 1.1.x does not load remote executable code.
4. Storage, retention, and deletion
Collected items and results are held in memory in the relevant browser page. Temporary collection settings may be placed in that site’s session storage to resume after a reload. The extension clears its collection settings when a run ends and resets its content cache when the supported profile changes. Closing the relevant tab clears its in-memory results and ends that tab’s session.
Downloaded media and exported CSV, Excel, or JSON files remain on your device until you delete them. Uninstalling the extension does not delete those files or the links you copied elsewhere. You can stop collection, revoke site access in Chrome, close the profile tab, clear site data, or uninstall the extension.
5. Earlier versions and signup information
The earlier GetGuddie-branded version, including version 1.0.5, may offer a free upgrade/signup form that asks for a first name, last name, and email address. If you submit that form, those details are sent to the Make It Automatic signup service at n8n.makeitautomatic.com to process the access request. Registration and access information returned by that service is stored using Chrome’s synchronized extension storage; Chrome may synchronize that information when browser synchronization is enabled.
The updated 1.1.x package removes that signup and server workflow. Installing the update does not itself delete details you previously submitted to the signup service. For access to, correction of, or deletion of earlier signup information, contact us using the address below. Avoid submitting the older form if you do not want to send those details.
6. This policy page and support messages
This policy page is hosted by Vercel. Visiting it sends ordinary web-request information, including your IP address and browser request details, to the hosting provider so it can serve the page. This policy page does not include analytics, advertising, or voice-assistant scripts. Other pages on makeitautomatic.com may use additional services; this extension-specific policy does not describe those separate services.
If you email support, we receive your email address and anything you include in the message. We use that information to respond to your request. Do not send passwords or other unnecessary sensitive information.
7. Changes to this policy
We will update this page and the date above when Get Content’s data handling changes. New platform access or features may require a new Chrome Web Store review and additional browser permission approval.
8. Contact and privacy requests
For Get Content support or privacy requests, email info@makeitautomatic.com. Please mention Get Content and your installed version so we can address the relevant behavior.
